Fedoro Cigars | Cuban Styled Masters | Fedoro Biography

Biography

Learn about the vision for our brand, and read about the actual artisans and masters behind the collections. We hope to continue adding more collections as we learn about other hand-rolled cigars that should be added.

Who and What is Fedoro?

Fedoro is the creation of one guy who merely wanted to sell something he actually cared about, while simultaneously learn about website design, running a business, and cigars as a whole (both smoking and hopefully growing).

I thought of the idea when I met Ernesto Pinero, who happens to produce the  first collection we have. Wandering around a Florida flea market, I saw only one booth that I actually cared about: Ernesto’s Cigars. I walked up and he started talking and rolling cigars in front me as if it was second nature to him. He handed me two cigars and said, “these you will like,” and I took his card. Nothing fancy, no rundown, just a simple here you go & enjoy.

Those cigars were great, so great that I ordered 2 of every cigar that he rolled so I could try some more of what he had to offer.

That’s when I figured that I could sell cigars online, partner with smaller manufacturers who may not have a platform, and help develop their respective brands as well as ours. I partnered up with my friend who shares my enthusiasm for cigars and we are very excited to see where this venture leads.

So folks, that is Fedoro. We are a business that cares about both the satisfaction of our customers as well as the fantastic products that we sell. In other words, we are just two guys trying to share good smokes from masterful rollers with the rest of the population.

THE MASTERS

Ernesto’s Collection: Ernesto Pinero

For over the past 35 years, Ernesto Pinero has been rolling and blending exceptional cigars. Originally from Cuba, Ernesto started out working with his Father and Uncle in their factory, Cabello Dorado (Golden Hair). Through those years he has learned and mastered his craft.

Ernesto says  that, “in order to really make cigars, you need to have knowledge of the entire process, from the selection, separation and preparation of each leaf. They don’t teach that to the tobacco makers, they only learn how to make cigars from a leaf list. Many Cuban cigar makers that worked in factories have never been able to make a cigar again because they don’t know how to prepare the leaves.”

Each year, Ernesto will handpick the leaves that he will use to make his cigars. If for some reason a certain leaf is not performing well that year, then he will find another that is better. But, each year his blend is as good if not better then the previous. Constantly learning and striving for excellence is what Ernesto does year after year.

To become a true master, it is not just to master rolling, but to truly understand tobacco as a whole. From the leaves and seeds to the preparation and blending. It is an innate ability that few possess, and Ernesto Pinero is one of those few.
